Its Sunday and Enzo gets to Run abit infront of our house. This week, so far, he'll been lucky twice. He ran all over West Coast yesterday and Today, he gets to Work out his remaining Energy downstairs at the field.

Its been months since my last post. And as much as I'd like to, there's just too much going on these few days to get time to get the blog site going...

However, Dazzle & Angel's Birthday was an event that was Earmarked on Enzo's Calendar. He was definately not gonna miss it for the world!

This was the irresistible Stawberry Birthday day cake that had a little lick on the bottom corner courtesy of a Big fat Friendly Retriever that almost started on the birthday without Dazzle & Angel =)

So these few days, the Sunset has been glorious and the Moon, nothing short of Stunning. I took the opportunity to catch a few Celestial Shots. On this particular night, i think the 7th of Aug, the Moon's color was really, a nice dark yellow.

So Back to Enzo.

We've decieded to bring him yet again to the groomer. This time though,
we've opted to go for a new groomer thru Claire colleague's recommendations! Its alittle bit more expensive, but, if he doesn't come back with Ticks, we're happy.

AND Of Course, before we bring him to the groomer, we might as well let him get as dirty and happy as he can be.

The Naughty Mao Mao Story

This morning, that naughty Mao left a small piece of poo in the living room. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and believed it was an "accidental" poo, although it looked like he played with it a little.

When i returned home after work, naughty Mao "reenacted" the morning scene, and left a piece of poo beside his food bowl... jus that this time it was very obviously played with. When he saw me, he happily wagged his tail all over the poo..ARGGGG..

Poo accidents haven't happened for such a looong time!! Why did it happen twice today??

Must be the bits of garlic we fed him 2 days back..his poo must have smelt of garlic and hence he decided to dig thru the poo to find his treasure.

Anyway, i gave him a half body bath, and as I was too tired to blow dry him, i left him in the living room to dry..but i caged him up so that he won't go crazy running around the house wet.

See the hollywood actor trying his best to look pitiful so that daddy will let him out!

IT's been ridiculously hot and humid for the past few days. And instead of being Stuck at home, we'd decided to go Head on against the Heat and bring Enzo out for a Run in the Sweltering hot afteroon Sun.

In case u're wondering, yeah, u're right... That's not me. Firstly, I'm not that lean. Secondly, I dun look so good nor relaxed running at such a Pace.

And now, the question the comes to mind naturally. Why take a picture of a guy running foward looking back?

Well. The reason's as simple as they come. Cuz he's being chased by some crazy Dog! =)

Heh, well actually, thats zhiyong, Claire's younger brother. Who so gladly volunteered to give Enzo a Darn good run. Apparently, my Wind resistance Factor is too huge (aka fat...) to run Fast.

And so, I've decided brillantly instead, to outsource my job to Zhiyong who's younger, fitter, faster And not forgetting, Smarter then Enzo, to go do the job fwahaha =p

(If u're reading this zhiyong, feel free to take it out on Enzo again anytime heh )

Thats Enzo Running his lungs out to get ahead. Usually, 4 Legs would beat 2 on any given day. But, little did he know, that today, He was up against IPPT Gold Champion , Wong Zhiyong. So, in the end, poor little Enzo got trashed big time. Didn't even had enough breath after the run to have a decent sip of water haha. (Enzo's tongue was on the floor for 5 mins flat out, whilst zhiyong happily basked around in glory)

Enzo & the Groomer

All dogs hate groomers. Some evidently more then others, judging from the way they bark, whine and thrash as if they about to die whilst on the grooming table.

Enzo has never been to the Groomers but on Good Friday, we've decided that he needed some Basic grooming for his own good (cuz honestly, i don't think we're doing a very professional job ourselves)

Wally's (Enzo's Brother) parent recomended a Groomer but they were located too far away. So, we eventually went to the only ones that we know of, located in Yishun.

Enzo was at the Goomer at 3.30pm but had to wait till 5pm before it was finally his turn. And when his turn finally came, it was a good 2 hr torture before it all ended at 7pm. Looking at the Goomer do his stuff, I can safely say that had i Not brought him there, he'd still be sporting a whole thick layer of Fur that would irritate him endlessly in coming Hot summer Months.

Whilst some may think that Groomers look as if they're torturing dogs, from the way they rake through the Dog's fur and cut nonchalantly at their nails, I personally feel that a Groomer's job is really tough and the money they make is really "pai tan" (Hard earned).

Anyway, I din get a chance to Give Enzo a nice Portrait shot after the Grooming but, Trust me, somehow, He looks EXACTLY the same ! (and so i wonder, why did we bring him go grooming in the first place 8~)

Its finally Saturday and Enzo's been Dying to get outta the house! To do him justice for being cooped up at home during the weekdays, We brought Enzo out to the Botanic Gardens for a little Rendezvous with Dazzle!

Well of course, in order for their Rendezvous to be succesfuly, we had to play apart. So we picked the spot (Botanic Gardens) and the time (too early to get up on a Saturday..), and let the dogs have all the fun they want !

Lazy Sunday Mornings & Evening Skies

Enzo's doing his lazy Sunday morning Routine and I get to shoot him slacking cuz I'm stuck at home with a Sprained ankle and not outside kicking usual Sunday Soccer.

He's been growing Fat! Or maybe its his fur thats getting longer, either ways, he looks like he's getting bigger. Right now, he's exactly the right size with the right amount of Fur. And as I blog, Enzo's circling around my chair for attention... super kay-poh

It rained alittle in the evening and I tried to bring him down for a walk inspite of my sprained ankle. That din't work out too well (for me) but at least he got to run alittle before it started storming. Weekends are getting shorter and I've no idea why. Anyway, Poor lil Enzo has it rough during the weekdays also. He's wonderful 2 day prison break is coming to an end and its back to 5 days of tormenting 10 hr waits for Claire and I to come back from work. Think i'll go give him a treat now to ease his impending pain hahah.

Enzo got covered in Sheepskin from Ikea. And he looks like Royalty haha. The best part of it all was that he didnt even look like he minded the sheepskin! He just sat there and poised for the shot

Tomorrow's CNY eve. Claire and I have been so busy packing that we didn't really spend too much time with Enzo. Then again, Enzo's a Self Entertaining dog. He'll follow either of us around of the house until he got tired or play with his toys until he got sick of em'.

Its about time to go for Dinner, havent really had much time to capture some moment of Enzo doing his Goondoo stuff. Will probably have more time during Cny Week. Which REMINDS me, I gotta teach Enzo to do the GONG Xi Trick, see if he'll bring in some Ang Pows to pay for his Dog food this month haha!

Another Saturday Morning and killer drain grills

Its finally Saturday!! Been a really hectic week at work and Fortunately, Enzo's been a real angel this week.

The Yogi Pee Tray works like a charm and he's been very accurate and consistent with his business. That means that we no longer have to contend with messy stained newspapers that occasionally ends up being torn and tattered. Amageddon gets contained in a a plastic tray called Yogi =)

So far, Enzo's training behaviour has been consistent. He requires a strong hand and most of the time, thats all it takes. He's smart and he knows what he doesnt like or want.

Take the normal Pedestrain "killer" Grill covers for example. He hates it. Plain and simple. One look and he stops DEAD in his tracks. More recently, we found that, he actually Remembers the location of the grill as Claire walks him fairly often these days in the evenings. Enzo will remember that there's a drain grill at the end of the passageway leading to the Lift lobby that brings him home. So when he hits the start of the passageway, even before seeing the grill, he Stops in his tracks.

In order to correct this "Sca-di-Kat" behaviour, I've been forcefully draggin him across the drains grill. Any and EVery drain grill i see, I force him across. It took about 30 drain grill and consistent dragging , pulling, tugging and forcing for him to finally realise that, Hey - drain grills ain't gonna Kiap my delicate paws!

So, now, he happily skips across drain grills without much hesitation. It makes walking him simplier cuz we dun have to carry him across every now and then. Hmm.. i wonder if i can make him take out the garbage......

Havent been updating much on Enzo cuz of all the festivities and merry making. So here are Shots of Enzo in his Proud looking state. - Fact is, he was staring out the window, pondering about why birds fly and Trains move i'm sure.

Yogi Pee Tray Vs Pee tray with Newspaper

Recently, We've moved him from the old Pee tray with newspaper to the Yogi Pee tray. So far, he's been more willing to use the Yogi mat then the Pee tray with Grill. Enzo hates anything that remotely resembles grill... and in order to keep the mess more contained, we had to move to bite the bullet and move to another system quickly.

The migration of systems wasnt / isn't easy though. As usual, he threw his usual trantrums of not wanting to have anything to do with the Yogi pee tray and peed/Poo'd at his own disposition.

However, we were more resolute in getting him up the Yogi Pee tray rather then the Pee tray with Grill (since he has phobia even standing on the darn grill)

So after 1 full day of painful correction, he's more willing to Pee / Poo on the Pee tray now. Just have to see what happens tomorrow when we're not around.

- On a side note, the Yogi Pee tray doesnt seem to be able to contain Enzo's Waste for a full day.. so i'm not sure how thats gonna work out.

Met up with sheltie owners over the weekend, din really get to catch too many nice shots as i was too busy trying to get Enzo's Attention... haiz. Failed miserably.. Plus Now i Know for a fact that he HATES the drain more then anything in his small little world.

He'd rather Make a big round between fields, Skip his favourate Treats or meals, JUST in order to avoid the damn drain, or ANYTHING that remotely looks or feels like a drain.

Been taking pictures of Pungolia , managed to squeese in a few more exposures for Enzo over the weekend. He's been thoroughly punctured on Saturday at the Dog run in Pasir Ris. First time out in the run with other dogs. Was alittle afraid at first but he caught on very quickly. It didnt take long before he bacame best buddies with a year old Shih Tzu and cute little Jack russell.

Inspite of the fear of Ticks, we brought him down to ECP anyway. He got lucky cuz I needed to be in Eunos in the morning and din wanna leave him behind on a Saturday. So Claire and I decided to bring him along at very short Notice.

We found a nice patch of grass that was secluded enuogh for him to exercise alittle. And as you can see in the pictures above, he had a chance to really show me the meaning of Enzo. He's Fast. Very fast. =)

The fields of Punggolia are vast and wide. of course, in Singapore, "Vast and Wide" roughly translate to about the size of a football field.

Brought Enzo down for a short walk around the fields and whilst he was abit apprehensive at first, it didnt take long before he got comfortable and roamed the fields as if it were his own personal Playground.

Been awhile since i've Updated ENZO's Blogsite. So here's a recent picture (5 mins ago) of Enzo after running all over the house.

We've been thinking about Enzo and how fast he's growing up. Of course, as he grows, he'll need more sustainance to keep him big and healthy! Our schedule doesnt allow us to come back during lunch and it'll spoil him anyway, so the NEXT BEST OPTION is a new accuired AUTO FEEDER!

This must be one of the coolest Auto feeder. It actually allows Us to record a short message before rotating the food dish out. Can Feed up to 4 meals a day, of course, we only use 1 or 2 feedings to keep him happy!

Enzo's growing up at an alarming rate! These days he's becoming
defiant as he's getting more comfortable with his territory.

The good news is that he's not like this evey day so we've termed this
defiant behaviour ENZO Mode. If he's not in this mode , he'd come to u

It's finally the weekends which means that i've got some Daylight time at home haha. Soft morning lights creates very good lighting conditions for Enzo shooting!!

Finally, internet connection's back online. And it time yet again to post some pictures!! My brother dropped by to give Enzo some toys to play with.

Apparently, Enzo Loves tearing at his new toy, hopefully, this takes channels away some of his destructive energy!

Anyway, the good news is, Enzo's getting used to the routine and no longer barks!!! Phew! And he's been such a good boy at night too.

Its been 2 weeks and I honestly cannot rememeber how we managed to get pass week 1!! He's so different now. Very comfortable with his territory and getting used to his routine!

Enzo Updates and stupid Starhub..

Enzo's been at it again. Apparently he's found a few friends in the house. His friends are actually his reflections in the mirror. And, like all dogs, Enzo goes ballistic when he sees himself in the mirror and thinks that its another puppy haha. We'd usually let him have his fun for awhile, give him a good workout chasing himself around the house.
Toilet training is now becoming a treat Session for him! Our smart boy now Pees deliberately on the papers to get treats from us?! Just the other day, he went about his business and after which, motioned for me to look at his acheivement haha. Naturally, he's expecting a treat, and u can tell this by looking at the way he sits down obediently , looking up at u with anticipation haha.
We're cutting down on the mini treats now anyway.
On the subject of barking in the evenings, it looks like we've not much choice. He's still at it, but, I'll be installing a Camera to monitor him remotely. Gota know why he's barking at 4~5pm. He's silent thruout the day I think. We've checked on him on the weekends.
AND Finally, I wasn't able to post nice pictures for the last few days Cuz STARHUB stupid broadband is giving me problems! I've little or no internet connection at all. Gonna call them up later and Butter them!

Enzo's trail of Destruction

The weekends take forever to come but left in the blink of an eye...Anyway, Enzo's been starting to teeth badly and the above table is his latest chew toy..Other then that, he's made alot of progress and doesn't howl or wake us up in the middle of the night phew.. the only thing left is his barking which happens only when we're not around for a prolonged period of time.

Enzo's Toilet Training and fav TV programs

Enzo's been getting better and better at toilet training. He's on auto mode now, going back to the papers in the pee tray to do his businesses both big and small. However, he hates the pee grill, cuz somehow, i think it reminds him of the Playpen's grill haha .

As long as the grill's on top, Enzo sees it as a toilet cover, meaning, cannot do business on the pee TRay. hmm, we'll need to work on that. But for now, we're just glad that he know how to go back to the papers to do what needs to be done =)

As for TV programs, it looks like our lil Enzo boy actually sat still watching the LCD TV for a good 45 mins! And i mean Watching, not sleeping or slacking or anything. Apparently, he intrigued by movement on the screen and doesnt mind sitting sit watching TV with Claire.

We got to break the TV habit though. His eyes seems watery after focusing intently for too long haha.

Its about 915am or so now and its time for us to put in some effort to stop his howling and incessant barking while we're at work. In order to do this, We've gota "go to work" on a Saturday... hide outside for awhile and come bursting back in to stop him from barking.

Well , this is what's being PREACHED by tons of Internet resources. We're gonna try it out and see if it works once and for all.

Enzo's a Smart boy. One way or another, i'm sure he'll learn though. (hopefully sooner then later else our neighbours might start complaining soon..)

Enzo's 2nd day alone

Unlike what the picture above suggests, Enzo doesnt get to run around the house whilst we're out at work. This shot above was taken earlier this morning during his routine time out of his play pen. Enzo enjoys looking far out at the blue skies and green "pastures" located beyond the glass window. (An activity we too enjoy)

Anyway, Enzo's 2nd day without company started off very much like every other day. Waking up at 630am, playing around the house and finally getting pen'd back in the kitchen at abt 830am. In these 2 hrs, we try to tire him out as much as we can (without killing ourselves at the same time)

In anycase, when we finally do leave for work, Enzo sorts of knows that we're leaving but i dun think he really knows that we're coming back haha. So , like all puppies, they whine / howl / bark for attention when we leave them after a certain period of time.

I drove back during lunch to check on Enzo, and was secretly hoping that he'll get used to it and stop barking. However, its probably too soon and like yesterday , Enzo was doing his Barking Ensemble. Today, however, the barking was alittle better (softer with less frequency) as it didn't like the same stressful barking heard on his first day.

Well.. anyway, tomorrow is Day 3. We'll see how that goes and may carry on the same routine into the weekend to get him accustomed to the schedule.. (thats means waking up early on SATurday and SUNday.... wah lau eh..)

Enzo probably had the longest day today... and so did our neighbours. We're pretty sure he barked almost the whole day... and if u thought that a puppy's bark cant be that loud, I bet u've never heard Enzo Boy bark!

Enzo refuses to let go of his squeaky toy but obliged to pose for a nice picture haha.

aah.. finally got some down time.. Enzo's been thoroughly exercised and has absolutely ZERO excess energy left. He's so tired that he can sleep with the lights on and with us walking around.. He's ears come up but eyes too tired to open haha so cute!

Claire and I have had better days... but at least our Insomia last night was not directly caused by ENZO boy.

Last night's plan worked out better then expected. Mostly because ENZO's alot more comfortable now and we too, are more confident in him. All lil' Enzo Needs is a little encourangement and some tough words to correct his behaviour.

Enzo's been very well behaved as long as he knows whats right and whats wrong. Such a darling he is.

Enzo had a long hard day today. With the Plumber and also the new vacum cleaner. By 5pm, he got totally punctured and this is his KO shot in his basket.

Enzo the wimpering champion

As expected, Enzo's first night was nothing short of a nightmare. His persistant wimpering leading to loud cries meant that we had no sleep the entire night.

Our original plan was the perfect Internet Derived plan , coupled with advise from people with countless years of experience. However, all these meant Sqquat when Enzo came along.

Just for the record, our original foolproof painfree plan was to bring Enzo home after a long day of play outside, Feed him at his new home and let him go about with his business before lights out timing at around midnight.

Well, anyway, that was the plan.

What eventually happen was, after laying by him and getting him to sleep at around 12am, I got punctured and thought that it was safe to sleep.

I did get to sleep. 15 whole mins. Before he start his wimpering and howling act. As per the wisdom of everybody else, we ignored his cries and wimpers. But got so loud that the entire estate would have gathered in arms and broke down my door if i hadnt done something about it. These are the pitfalls of living in HDB and owning (trying to own) a pet puppy.

- So, no choice, i knew that Enzo can only sleep if he sees us. Compromises had to be made.We Play Pen'd him outside of our bedroom so that he can see us. And finally at ard 3~4am, he finally surrendered and let us off.... until 630am that is, when he started wimpering again. However, this time, it's because he defacated in his area and thats no problem, so we cleaned it up and by that time that was done, he became so hyper that we had to entertain our lil' Enzo.

630am in the morning, while half the world's asleep (myslef included) , we Let him out his playpen to explore the house.

All humans need to sleep, and we're of no exception. Hence, we tried to put him back to his playpen at ard 7am but he'll have none of that. Enzo basically did his wimpering Routine and Clare had to watch him whilst i slept - till 9am (an hr ago). Now's Claire turn to sleep hah.

i'm on leave today to take care of Enzo and as I speak (type), Enzo is still persistantly howling at 30 seconds interval. I can understand where he's coming from. He just got seperated from a loving family and littermates. As much as i would like to assure him that everything is going to be fine and that we'll be nothing lesser then his former family, we need to let him know that howling, moaning, wimpering will not get him anywhere.

Anyway, that's the first night and i hope and pray that its not the first of too many more sleepless nights...
